What this page is
This is a curated signpost to community-made Classic World content - Reddit threads, Google Sheets, YouTube videos, Discord compilations. We did not write these resources and we don’t verify every claim inside them. What we DO is read each one carefully, note where the community has pushed back on it, and tell you up front what the resource is good for.
The rest of this site - /jobs, /assassin-build, /items, /quests,
/launch - stays datamine-verified with sources you can check. This page is
the one place where “community opinion” lives, clearly labeled as such.
How we pick them
Every entry on this page meets three bars:
- Public and durable - the resource is on a platform that doesn’t vanish when a Discord server reshuffles. Reddit posts, Google Sheets, YouTube videos, GitHub repos all qualify. Private Discord screenshots do not.
- Attributable - the author is named and the resource is datestamped. We want you to be able to tell if a build is from a 2026 Classic World tester versus an archived fan-wiki from a different MapleStory version.
- Honestly contextualized - we read the top-upvoted comments, the author’s edits, and any corrections. If the community pushed back on something, our framing captures that.
We do not require that we agree with every claim in a resource. We require that you leave this page knowing what you’re reading.
Builds & SP allocation
Complete Builds for all Classes - 1st & 2nd Job
by u/xBucc on r/MSClassicWorld - Oct 2, 2026 - 540 upvotes
What it is: An 11-image gallery of one-page SP build infographics covering every 1st and 2nd job class, plus a Google Sheet with per-skill rationale. Explicitly aimed at free-to-play players with an endgame / bossing mindset. OP’s stated goal: “these builds will not require SP resets to be successful late game.”
Author’s own caveat: In the post’s EDIT, OP acknowledged the Archer builds are wrong (“The archer class is the least I’ve had the least experience with so sorry for not doing my full research while making that section”). The amended Archer builds live in the spreadsheet, NOT in the original Reddit images.
Where the community pushed back:
- Magician builds (66-upvote reply): maxing Magic Claw from L12-L17 is argued to be a mana-cost trap during leveling. The counter-recommendation is to park Magic Claw at 4 points while investing in MP recovery.
- Thief builds (39-upvote reply): the Assassin build in the gallery reportedly does not max Dark Sight, which the replier called out as a core survival-skill omission.
- Warrior builds (28-upvote reply): all Warrior classes max both weapon mastery and booster, but skip Final Attack entirely. The replier argues Final Attack at 270% damage is too valuable to leave on the table, especially given F2P players scroll one weapon rather than two.
- Page builds (32-upvote reply): going hybrid gives up Final Attack, and Precise Strikes over HP recovery was called out as inappropriate for a game without a defined endgame yet.
- F2P philosophy debate (12-upvote reply): the resource prioritizes late-game bossing power. Counter-argument: F2P meso efficiency during leveling is more valuable because most players never make it to bossing levels, and Inkwell confirmed Cash Shop items will be 1-time tradable (changing the F2P calculus from the OSMS baseline).
How to use it: As a starting point to compare against the actual skill tables on our individual job pages. The infographics give you one person’s opinionated end-state; the community discussion tells you where that opinion is contested. Use both.

Found a community-made Classic World resource that belongs on this page? Open an issue on the site’s GitHub repo or drop a link somewhere Liven can find it. We’ll read it, check the top replies, and either add it with the honest-caveat framing or explain why we passed. Resources that are pure link-farms, outdated for Classic World specifically, or that pretend to be datamine-verified when they’re not will politely get skipped.
