Republican Balloon (Elephant)
DreamedCape-slot cosmetic given out during Nexon's 2004 GMS 'Vote 04' civic-participation event. A little elephant balloon that bobbed behind your character - and yes, it's BLUE. Nexon shipped both balloons in the same blue palette rather than color-coding them by party, which is peak 2004 GMS attention-to-detail. A genuinely charming sprite that a lot of veterans still remember pinning behind them at Free Market.
Dreamed: Somehow STILL sitting in the traditional MapleStory game files at wzId 1102111 - twenty years later, the elephant remembers. Whether Classic World ever re-enables it is another question.
Democratic Balloon (Donkey)
DreamedThe other half of the 2004 'Vote 04' pair - a donkey balloon that floated behind Democratic-leaning Maplers (also blue, because see above re: Nexon not color-coding by party). Notably absent from the traditional MapleStory data snapshot: searches for 'donkey', 'democratic', 'election', and 'vote' all return zero hits. Its Republican counterpart survives at wzId 1102111; the Donkey appears to have been quietly removed post-event and never re-added. First casualty of Maple redistricting.
Dreamed: Sprite lost to time. If anyone has an archived v40-era .wz dump with the Donkey Balloon still intact, we would love to see it - open an issue.
