Return Scroll - Nearest Town

Returns you to the nearest town. The single most quality-of-life-improving consumable in Classic MapleStory - and the reason you'll never walk back to town after a training session again.

In-game description

Returns you to the nearest town.

Liven's take

Return Scrolls consume one use to instantly teleport your character to a town. The generic "Nearest Town" variant is the most flexible - it picks the town closest to wherever you are, which is usually the town you'd want to visit anyway.

Why this is essential: without Return Scrolls, every training session ends with a long walk (or a taxi mesos fee) back to town. Multiply that by 10-20 sessions per day and Return Scrolls save literal hours of play time per week.

Town-specific variants: Return Scrolls also exist for each specific town:

  • Return Scroll to Lith Harbor (2030001)
  • Return Scroll to Ellinia (2030002)
  • Return Scroll to Perion (2030003)
  • Return Scroll to Henesys (2030004)
  • Return Scroll to Kerning City (2030005)
  • Return Scroll to Sleepywood (2030006)

The town-specific variants are useful when you want to hop somewhere OTHER than the nearest town - e.g., you're training near Sleepywood but need to visit Henesys for a Free Market run.

How to acquire: most towns sell them at the general item shop for a modest meso cost (typically 1,000-2,000 mesos traditionally, likely similar in Classic World). Buy in bulk - a stack of 100 costs less than one training session's mesos, and lasts weeks.
