Icarus - the Kerning rooftop dreamer - is still trying to fly. First a hang glider, then a hot-air balloon. Both fail. His L11 'I'm Bored' arc grew into a Da Vinci-tier obsession.
Apparently, there's someone in Kerning City by the name of
Icarus that stands on top of a building just staring at
the sky, 24/7.
I went to meet Icarus on top of a building in Kerning
City. He was a nice guy with an unquenchable thirst for
flight. First he wanted to build a hang glider. When that
failed, he moved on to a hot-air balloon.

Icarus's Flight Experiments is the L31 continuation
of his L11 "I'm Bored" arc. Same rooftop, same
dreamer, but now with actual engineering ambition. His
Greek namesake (Icarus who flew too close to the sun) is
the winking joke - MapleStory writers named him hoping
players catch the reference.

The hang glider failed. Icarus is now attempting a

Both quests fail canonically. The
Balloon fails too. Icarus doesn't fly. But he never gives
up - and later quests (L40+) continue his story with even
wilder inventions. He's Classic World's persistent-dreamer
character.
