In-game text

The master blacksmith of Perion, Silas Irons, seems to be looking for someone worthy of becoming his apprentice. The master blacksmith of Perion, Silas Irons, is giving me a test to see if I'm fit to become his apprentice. He said that a true blacksmith should first understand the materials themselves.

Liven's take

Silas Irons is the Perion entry point to Classic World's Crafting Apprenticeship system. Six master crafters exist across Victoria Island, each specializing in a different craft discipline:

  • Silas Irons - Blacksmithing (weapons + armor + shields, Perion)
  • Mr. Thunder - separate discipline, verification pending
  • Francois - separate discipline, verification pending
  • Vicious - separate discipline, verification pending
  • JM From tha Streetz - separate discipline, verification pending
  • Chrishrama - separate discipline, verification pending

Why apprentice? The Crafting system in Classic World is a distinct progression track alongside combat leveling. Crafters can produce equipment, scrolls, and consumables that aren't purchasable from any NPC. This parallels how the Citizenship system works - a whole parallel gameplay layer.

Silas's test: the datamine text is cut short in the description ("He said that a true blacksmith should first understand the materials themselves") but the pattern in v83-derived apprenticeship systems suggests you'll be sent to hunt specific ETC materials as a proving task.

This page is a stub for verification. The full Crafting deep-dive guide is queued in ROADMAP. Once we've mapped all six apprentice paths and their test quests, Silas will get his own crafting-tree page showing recipe unlocks per apprentice tier.
