Wooden Buckler is the Warrior-exclusive first shield. +70 Weapon Defense is massive at level 10 - more than double most L10 armor pieces. Add the passive chance to block attacks entirely and Wooden Buckler is a survivability cornerstone for early Warriors.

Stat analysis

  • +70 PDD: shields are the highest PDD slot in the game per equipment piece. Wooden Buckler sets the entry baseline.
  • 7 upgrade slots: generous. Vendor Shield DEF scrolls (10% for +3 PDD) are common; scrolling Wooden Buckler to +90-100 PDD is achievable.
  • Block chance (passive): shields grant a small chance to completely negate incoming attacks. This is separate from PDD reduction - a blocked hit does zero damage. Compounds with high PDD for boss survivability.

Requirements

Warrior only (job requirement). STR 10 minimum. Level 10. Bowmen and Thieves cannot equip shields at all (their off-hand is reserved for two-handed weapons or dual-wield claws). Magicians can equip shields BUT only Wand-carrying Magicians benefit - Staff Magicians use two- handed staves and lose the shield slot.

How to acquire

  • Random from Blackbull's House chain (L11): 50/50 roll between Wooden Buckler and Steel Shield. First guaranteed shield in most players' inventory.
  • Vendor: Perion general shop sells Wooden Buckler for 2,000 mesos.
  • Mob drops: Rare drops from L10-15 Perion mobs.
