Liven's take

Red Potion is Classic MapleStory's entry-tier HP consumable. Restores 100 HP per use, no cooldown, 5 mesos to buy from any starter town's potion shop. It's the mainline HP potion for characters L1-30.

Why 100 HP matters: at level 1-10 a Warrior has ~120 HP total, so one Red Potion is nearly a full heal. Even at level 20-25 (~350 HP), a Red Potion restores roughly a third. Above L30, White Potion (300 HP restore) becomes the better ratio; Red Potion stays useful as low-cost inventory filler for training runs.

Who this is for:

  • Warriors live and die by HP potions - Sword / Axe classes take hits by design. Keep 50-100 Red Potions on hotkey slot 4.
  • Bowmen and Thieves keep smaller stacks (~20-30) for emergencies when kite-and-shoot goes wrong.
  • Magicians mostly use Magic Guard (converts damage to MP loss) so they need Blue Potion more than Red - but a small Red Potion stack is still useful when Magic Guard drops or you're out of MP.

How to acquire: every starter town's potion shop sells Red Potions for 5 mesos each. Also drops from many low-level mobs. Also awarded by numerous L1-15 quests: Bruce's Mushroom Studies (10 potions), Icarus's I'm Bored 2 (10 potions), To Henesys, the Prairie Town (5 potions).
